Free polished samples available to qualified buyers on request.

Stone Knowledge

Vizag Blue — Origin & Character

Vizag Blue granite is geologically a blue-grey gneissic granite from the Andhra Pradesh coastal formation with high concentration of blue-grey sodic plagioclase feldspar minerals producing the characteristic blue undertone. This geological origin directly accounts for its commercial performance characteristics — the consistency of colour, the density of the stone and the surface quality achievable through polishing.

Market Position

Vizag Blue is one of very few natural stones in the world with genuine blue mineral content. The blue-grey plagioclase feldspar creates a stone that reads as cool and sophisticated — significantly different from the warm or neutral tones that dominate the granite market. UK and German kitchen designers specify it for contemporary spaces where a cool-toned natural stone is required. UAE interior designers use it for bathroom feature walls and kitchen countertops in properties where the design palette includes blue, grey and metallic elements.

Quality Standards

Vizag Blue achieves 88–105 GU polished gloss. The blue mineral character is most pronounced in polished finish under natural lighting — honed finish reduces the blue intensity slightly. Pre-shipment photographs under natural light are provided for all consignments.

How It Compares

Vizag Blue is unique in the Indian granite range — there is no other Indian granite with comparable blue mineral content. For buyers who want a cool blue-toned natural stone at granite price points, it has no domestic equivalent.

Applications & Best Uses

Vizag Blue granite performs exceptionally across a wide range of applications. Its physical properties — hardness, low porosity and surface quality — make it suitable for both residential and commercial specifications worldwide.

For exterior applications, Vizag Blue maintains its colour and surface quality through decades of UV exposure, freeze-thaw cycles and rain. For interior applications, its scratch and stain resistance exceeds that of engineered quartz in comparable testing conditions.

Vizag Blue from Andhra Pradesh is geologically unusual — one of very few natural stones anywhere in the world with genuine blue mineral content in the stone matrix rather than as a surface treatment or coating. The blue-grey plagioclase feldspar that creates the characteristic colouring is a formation specific to the Andhra Pradesh coastal geological zone. For stone importers building differentiated product ranges, Vizag Blue provides a stone with a visual character that stands apart from the warm or neutral tones that dominate the granite market. UK kitchen designers use it in contemporary spaces where the design palette includes blues, greys and metallic elements. UAE interior designers specify it for bathroom features and kitchen countertops where a cool-toned natural stone is required. We supply Vizag Blue FOB from Chennai and Hyderabad ICD.
